Mitchell Santner ruled out of the first T20I against Pakistan

New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner ruled out of the first T20I against Pakistan after he tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.

New Zealand Cricket took to their official X (formerly Twitter) account to announce the update for Santner’s unavailability.

“Mitch Santner won’t travel to Eden Park this evening for the opening KFC T20I against Pakistan after testing positive for COVID earlier today. He will continue to be monitored over the coming days and will travel solo home to Hamilton,” New Zealand Cricket posted.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and New Zealand will kick off their five-match T20I series today, which will be Shaheen Afridi’s first assignment as captain of Pakistan.
