GQEBERHA: Rain played spoilsport in the curtain raiser of the second edition of the SA20 between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Joburg Super Kings here on Wednesday.
The persistent rain here had the final say as it washed out the much-anticipated curtain-raiser between defending champions Eastern Cape and the Super Kings.
As a result of a stalemate, the Eastern Cape and Super Kings shared two points each.
The action of the second edition of the SA20 will now get underway on Thursday with Durban’s Super Giants taking on MI Cape Town at Kingsmead Stadium.

Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Eastern Cape are defending their title in a month-long tournament, scheduled to run from January 10 to February 10.
The 33-match extravaganza, featuring six teams will be held across as many venues: Durban, Cape Town, Gqeberh, Centurion, Paarl, and Johannesburg.
After a successful inaugural edition, SA20 has managed to attain massive interest from Cricket South Africa (CSA).
The tournament allows the cricketing body to try and test sensational players and combinations to boost their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be co-hosted by the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies.
