SOUTHAMPTON: Pakistan pacer Mohammad Abbas has taken the county championship by storm as he bagged a six-wicket haul in his first outing of the season on Thursday.
The right-arm pacer claimed 6 for 49 as he ran through the Nottinghamshire top order before coming back to wrap up the tail.
His phenomenal bowling helped Hampshire bowl out the opponents for 185 on the opening day.

Abbas has been a bowling mainstay for Hampshire since he joined them in 2021. He took 91 championship wickets at 16.83 in the last two seasons and signed another two-year contract with the club.
The 33-year-old has 90 wickets in 25 Tests he played for Pakistan. He last represented the national side in August 2021 against West Indies in the final Test of two-game series in Kingston.
